An elegant and rare small tabletop display cabinet (which can also serve as a reliquary or a master’s display cabinet) in the Rococo style, dating from the 18th century. This small, highly intriguing piece captivates with its architectural proportions and the richness of its carved, stuccoed, and gold-leafed wood decoration. Its rectangular structure, glazed on all sides, offers perfect visibility for displaying precious collectibles, miniatures, or devotional mementos. Description of ornamentation:
Dimensions:
- Upper section: Topped by a large central openwork pediment featuring an asymmetrical shell motif, volutes, and scrollwork typical of the Rocaille style, framed by two charming spinning-top-shaped pinnacles.
- Front and corners: The vertical posts are adorned with cascading sculpted flowers and foliage. The frame of the main pane features a delicate molded frieze.
- Lower section: Rests on a molded base with a central apron richly carved with Rocaille motifs, supported by four fluted console feet wrapped in volutes.
- Interior:
- The back panel, stained a deep green, features an original painted decoration depicting delicate garlands and wreaths of flowers suspended by a ribbon bow.
