Silver monstrance-reliquary
Probably from southwestern France, late 18th century. Silver (550 g), unhallmarked, embossed, cast, and chased. The base has a contoured shape with beveled edges; the baluster-style shaft features extensive openwork decoration of volutes and acanthus leaves, topped by a cross. In the center, an oval, glass-fronted reliquary containing several relics accompanied by their handwritten labels, including “St. Vincent M., St. Loud Ev., St. Theodore M., S.......?” Traces of age and wear.
Red wax episcopal seal on the reverse.
