2 Paintings: Madagascar, Amboise Rakoto On Canvas, Malgache, Tananarive, Exoticism, Pair, 1950

A pair of oil-on-canvas paintings depicting scenes of daily life in Madagascar by the Malagasy painter Amboise RAKOTO
Both paintings are signed—one in the lower left corner and the other in the lower right corner—and dated “50” for 1950.
The color palette of each painting consists of monochromatic tones: yellows and greens for one, and pinks and greens for the other.
The brushwork is broad and lively; with just a few brushstrokes, the painter has perfectly captured the lives of the Malagasy people in their daily activities. 
Both paintings are in their original condition.
One has a small dent at the top of the painting, near the frame—nothing serious—and the other has a few very small spots that will disappear upon cleaning. 
These paintings are unvarnished; a light coat of varnish would help bring out their beautiful original colors.
I have decided to sell both paintings together at a very reasonable price so as not to separate them.
