Pair Of Corner Armchairs In Turned Oak, Louis XIII Style, Late 19th Century

An elegant pair of corner armchairs in stained oak, resting on a fully turned “chapelet” frame, in the style of Louis XIII furniture.

Their enveloping backrests, arranged at right angles, extend naturally to form the armrests. The remarkable turned woodwork is evident on the uprights, crossbars, and legs, giving the piece a particularly decorative silhouette.

The traditional construction features mortise-and-tenon joints, dowels, and wooden pegs. The seats have retained their original straw-woven upholstery with geometric patterns, accented with colored strands.

The two removable cushions with floral designs, visible in the photographs, will be included with the armchairs. They remain in good overall condition, despite the natural aging of the fabric.

These two armchairs form a genuine pair and feature a pleasant antique patina.

Dated to the late 19th century, circa 1880–1900.

In good overall condition, with normal signs of age and minor irregularities. The straw padding is in good condition and shows no wear.
