Antique Billiard Chandelier In Brass And Opaline Glass – Late 19th Century
A substantial and elegant antique billiard chandelier, dating from the late 19th to very early 20th century (circa 1890–1910), crafted from brass with a beautiful antique patina and adorned with two large original white opaline glass shades. This model, originally designed for billiard rooms, cafés, and bourgeois homes, provides homogeneous and perfectly balanced lighting, avoiding any glare. Each opaline glass shade is fitted with its own adjustable inner glass tube, a characteristic feature of early oil or gas lamps, later adapted for electricity. The finely crafted scrollwork structure exemplifies the meticulous workmanship typical of the Belle Époque period. The central rod is height-adjustable, sliding, and removable, allowing for ideal adaptation to ceiling heights. Recently rewired and fully functional, it is ready for immediate use.
