Ink and wash on thick vellum paper, signed and dated 1971 lower left, by Hendra Gunawan, one of the leading figures of modern Indonesian art.

This work depicts an intimate scene bringing together women and children, a central theme in Hendra Gunawan’s artistic universe. The elongated figures, stylized faces and expressive gestures are arranged in a fluid, rhythmic composition characteristic of the artist’s distinctive graphic language. The bold, calligraphic line is subtly enhanced with washes, creating depth, movement and emotional intensity.
