Berger – München” Superb Bavarian rural landscape signed by Heinrich Berger, a German painter trained in Munich and active in the 20th century. Here we find all of Berger’s art: soft light, a bright sky and a balanced composition highlighting the countryside during the harvest season. Haystacks harmoniously punctuate the valley, while a farm and a curtain of trees close the perspective. Technique: oil on hardboard, rich in material and relief. Condition: excellent general condition, antique period gilt frame. Provenance: private collection. Heinrich Berger (1898 – after 1966) exhibited in Munich at the Haus der Kunst, the Lenbachhaus and the Maximilianeum. A member of the Munich Kunstverein, he produced numerous Alpine views, country scenes, and landscapes of the Bavarian countryside.
