Biography: TARAYRE Jean-Joseph, Baron, General of Infantry, born in Salles-la-Source (Aveyron) on May 21, 1770; died in Rodez on November 27, 1855.
Captain in the 2nd Battalion of Aveyron Volunteers, July 4, 1792; served in the Army of Italy from 1792 to 1797. Served in Egypt and Syria from 1798 to 1801.
