Four-barreled pepperbox pistol "Mariette Patented". 7mm caliber with forced ball. Renaissance-style stock, manufactured between 1850 and 1870. The ring-shaped trigger raises a hammer under the receiver in front of the trigger, rotating the block of four Damascus-finished barrels. Each barrel has a breechblock with a nipple. The breechblocks and barrels are numbered for ease and safety during reassembly. The rounded receiver and grip strap are decorated with rich, finely chased ornamentation. The lower strap is marked "Mariette Patented" and the forends bear the Liège proof mark. The Renaissance-style ebony grip plates have two small chips.
