Large Renaissance-style Walnut Armchair, 19th-century Ceremonial Chair Upholstered In Small-polka-dot Fabric

A very important ceremonial armchair with a high back, made of solid walnut in the Renaissance–Louis XIII style.
This majestic chair rests on four turned legs, connected by an H-shaped crossbar.
The “crosse”-shaped armrests are finished with scrollwork.
The large, tall rectangular backrest is framed by two columns, each topped at the ends with a cube adorned with a rounded relief decoration and surmounted by finials.
This backrest is crowned by a pediment consisting of a central cartouche flanked by two horizontal consoles.
The upholstery has recently been completely redone, providing great comfort with a very firm seat.
The upholstery has also been replaced; a small-dot tapestry was specially made for this chair, and only the original garnet-colored velvet fabric on the back of the seat has been retained.
This chair is embellished with beautiful studded detailing.
A fine example of Neo-Renaissance style craftsmanship from the second half of the 19th century.
