17th-century Dining Table Made Of Solid Oak, Renaissance Style, With A Console Design

A magnificent and imposing 17th-century console table made of solid oak.
Our table, which is quite tall, rests on four turned baluster legs connected by four crossbars that form a framing brace at the base of the legs.
The apron is entirely carved with deep reliefs along its entire perimeter.
The front and back of the apron feature different sculptural motifs; these are complemented by floral motifs carved in relief and arranged as applied decorations.
The front apron crossbar is fitted with three drawers.
The piece is topped by a thick tabletop carved with a “beak of corbin” motif along its entire perimeter. This tabletop is remarkable because it is carved from a single plank over 3.5 cm thick.
The tabletop of our table was replaced in the 19th century.
This piece is in very good condition, with some normal wear, old signs of wood-boring insects, and a few routine restorations, notably the replacement of the drawer slides.
