Pair Of Louis XIII - Louis XIV High-back Chairs With Inventory Mark, 17th And 19th Century
Attractive pair of chairs with high flat backs, each resting on four legs connected by an H-shaped brace and a high front crosspiece, all turned into a baluster.
The first chair dates from the late 17th/early 18th century and features old restorations, right rear leg removed by about three centimeters, lower back crosspiece partially changed. This seat comes from a château inventory and bears the "B .
The second chair is a replica of the first, probably made in the late 19th or early 20th century.
Both chairs have very good upholstery, firm and comfortable, but the upholstery fabric is slightly faded and has significant wear marks on the front of the seats (see photos).
