German Circa 1710 Silver Scent Jar/pomander/bottle
A rare, early 18th-century, German silver scent jar, engine-turned and hand-chased with a cross-and-scales design, divides into 3 sections connected by screw threads, the smallest (top) section for a solid perfume, the lower section probably for botanicals, the foot enabling use as a seal. Unmarked. 5 cm (2 in) high.
Condition: Very good, no damage. Sections screw together securely. Light tarnish.
