French Grand Tour Ormolu Bronze Two-handled Lidded Urn, 19th Century
A French grand tour ormolu and bronze two-handled lidded urn, with cast flowers and leaves in high relief, bidfurcated handles with scallop thumbpieces, and a lid finial of a winged cherub holding a swan or goose, first quarter of the 19th century, mounted on an octagonal cream marble socle.
Maker’s marks: Incised “G J” to base of socle.

Condition: In very good condition. Light wear appropriate to age, including a few very small “fleabite” chips to the edges of the marble socle.
