Pair Of Athenian Incense Burners, 19th Century
These Restoration period incense burners borrow from the beautiful Regency style while adopting an Athenian shape very popular in the 19th century. Finely openwork and sculpted, these two gilded bronze incense burners stand on a base and feet in the form of generous windings of acanthus leaves. Each lid is cut out to let out the scent of incense or potpourris that was placed there. The whole is in perfect condition.
