OFFICER'S SABER SCabbard FROM THE 2nd REGIMENT OF THE GUARDS OF HONOR, Model 1813, First Empire (1813–1815). 34343

Made of black patent leather (H 33.5 cm, width at top 21 cm, width at bottom 30 cm). It is edged with a leather band folded over itself and sewn to the outer edge with a double silver thread forming a chain pattern on the outside.

At its center is a silver-plated brass imperial eagle holding Jupiter’s sparkling spindle in its talons (H 10.3 cm, width 10 cm). It is surmounted by an imperial crown of the same metal, finely openwork (H 3.2 cm, width 3.7 cm). Below it, the numeral “2” of the same metal (H 4 cm, width 2.7 cm). These three elements are of very high-quality craftsmanship and correspond to the specific model used by the 2nd Regiment, featuring a matte silver finish with protruding parts polished with agate stone; they are secured by silver-plated metal tabs soldered to the back, through which a lace is threaded from the inside of the sabretache. A flat band 0.7 cm wide is embroidered around its perimeter using silver thread.

Inside the flap, there is a black waxed leather pocket lined with unbleached canvas.

At the top, there are three brass suspension rings (outer diameter 3 cm, thickness 0.4 cm).
