Saddlecloth of the mounted scouts of the Imperial Guard; Model 1804 of the First Empire. Made of dark green wool cloth, 100 cm wide at the top, 113 cm wide at the bottom, 66 cm high at the front and 76 cm high at the back. These dimensions are taken with the saddlecloth folded in half. It is edged with a wide scarlet braid with stripes and scarlet piping. The flaps are lined with tan leather, 150 mm high and 290 mm wide. On the back, on each side, is embroidered a crowned imperial eagle in yellow thread, 150 mm high by 120 mm wide and 10 mm thick at the center. It is entirely lined with ecru canvas. The beechwood tree is 550 mm long, 325 mm wide, and 290 mm high. The tree is in fairly good condition. First Empire. France.
