Complete 8-person Coffee Set, Floral-patterned Gilded Porcelain, Empire And Restoration Periods—12 Pieces

A 8-person coffee set made of gilded Parisian porcelain, consisting of a coffee pot, a biscuit bowl, a milk jug, a sugar bowl, and 8 large, oval-shaped cups with handles featuring lion masks made of bisque, along with their saucers. Beautiful naturalistic floral design on a blue background, enhanced by a very rich decoration of gold palmettes in both matte and glossy finishes. Parisian porcelain from the early 19th century (late Empire period or early Restoration period), circa 1820.

As the pieces are unsigned, we are unable to attribute them to a specific Parisian manufactory with certainty. We believe these may be products of the Schoelcher Manufactory (based on signed pieces of the same shape and with comparable-quality decoration that we have handled.

The set is in good overall condition. The gilding is beautiful, though showing some wear. Restoration on the milk jug (handle reattached) and on the sugar bowl (lid handle reattached). Very beautiful polychromy and high-quality painting of the flowers: each bouquet is a unique work of art.
