Large "solar Eruption" Coffee Table By Guy Lefèvre For Ligne Roset, Circa 1970

A monumental and spectacular piece of 1970s French design, this large rectangular coffee table was designed by Guy Lefèvre and produced by Ligne Roset.

It perfectly illustrates the designer’s mastery in juxtaposing brutalist, architectural lines with finishes of extreme sophistication. The tabletop is encased in a thick lacquered resin whose organic swirls reproduce a pattern known as a “solar eruption,” blending brown, bronze, and golden-brown hues under a high-gloss finish. The tabletop appears to levitate on four deep, cubic legs made of brushed metal, creating a striking contrast of materials and light.

Condition and Transparency:A heavy, sturdy table in structurally flawless condition. The top has retained its superb depth and mirror-like finish (with a few normal micro-scratches from use). Please note, in the interest of complete transparency: there is a scratch or scuff mark on one of the tabletop’s side edges (visible in the detailed photograph). A striking piece with undeniable decorative presence.
