Oval Medallion Made Of Carved Wood
An oval medallion depicting a holy woman in prayer, carved in high relief from a single piece of wood. The frame, shaped like a garland of neatly arranged foliage, is an integral part of this sculpture. The back has been reinforced to strengthen the piece as a whole. Traces of insect damage are visible, but the object has been treated. 18th century, possibly older.
