Snuffbox Pendants From South Africa, Zulu

The two small glass vials were used to hold snuff.
They are entirely covered with colorful glass beads. A stopper, made of plant fibers, is adorned with rare small red beads with white centers (“white heart”). Hanging cords made of pink beads, fitted with mother-of-pearl button clasps, allowed these small ornaments to be worn around the neck or attached to clothing.
In very good condition.
Zulu people, South Africa, early 20th century.
