Ornament, Papua New Guinea
Our adornment was once to embellish the forehead of a Papua New Guinean warrior.
It is made from a piece of bark dyed red using natural pigments. Small Nassa shells are sewn in rows to form a beautiful geometric pattern.
Very well preserved; only a part of the plant braiding is missing on the edge.
