Jean Baptiste Jaffeux (1906–1982), De Murol School, Pair Of Watercolors, Landscape Of A Woodland Glade
A pair of watercolors by Jean Baptiste Jaffeux, depicting a riverside scene and a wooded area.
These two matching landscapes are signed by the artist in the lower left corner of the first and in the lower right corner of the second.
The colors are soft; note a few small traces of water marks in the upper left near the sky in the riverside landscape (see last photo).
These two watercolors are sold unframed; they are mounted on cardboard.
Jean Baptiste Jaffeux was a painter born in 1906 in Riom, Auvergne, who died in 1982.
He was the brother of Charles Jaffeux (1902–1941), a painter of the Murol School, well known for his engravings.
