Oval Mahogany Side Table, 4 Curved Legs, Living Room Or Coffee Table, 19th Century

A very beautiful oval-shaped pedestal table with a mahogany veneer top and a molded edge.
The apron is also made of mahogany veneer and is embellished with a small rounded molding; it features two small drawers with scalloped edges at the bottom, topped with a beautiful floral design.
Our charming center table rests on four strongly curved legs forming inverted, superimposed double-C-shaped consoles, with the upper part of each leg richly carved with floral scrolls. The ends are finished with elegant volutes resting on casters; the whole is connected by an X-shaped crossbar, sinuously curved and adorned in the center with a double spindle.
The whole piece is topped with a mahogany-veneered wooden tabletop; note a few small marks on the tabletop due to use (see photos 11 and 12) as well as a small, older veneer patch and a very slight lifting of the veneer that is barely visible—as is often the case with this type of furniture. These imperfections have no impact on the aesthetics of this undeniably charming piece
Our piece is a beautiful mid-19th-century creation crafted from solid mahogany and mahogany veneer.
