Inlaid Coffee Table From Emilia, Rolo Area – Late 19th Century
An elegant coffee table made in the Rolo area toward the end of the 19th century, featuring a refined top entirely inlaid with wood species of various shades. The circular top displays a rich geometric pattern achieved through meticulous inlay work that creates a striking three-dimensional effect. The alternation of different wood species gives rise to a composition of rhombuses and hexagons that, depending on the viewing angle, creates an elegant play of perspective with great decorative impact. The edge is embellished with an inlaid geometric band that harmoniously frames the entire top.The central support, finely turned and decorated with delicate fillets, rests on three shaped legs that lend balance and elegance to the piece as a whole. The coffee table retains a pleasing period patina that enhances the quality of the woods and highlights the finesse of the craftsmanship.Condition: The coffee table is in good condition. Over time, some structural reinforcement and re-gluing work has been carried out, visible mainly on the underside of the base—as is typically found in a piece of furniture over a century old. These interventions do not compromise the piece’s structural integrity or aesthetic balance. There are also natural signs of age and use, which are perfectly consistent with the piece’s age and serve to preserve its authentic character.DimensionsDiameter: 79.5 cmHeight: 83 cmPlease feel free to contact us for further information or additional photographs.Professional shipping available worldwide.
