Large Oriental Rug From Isfahan – Iran, Shah Era: 258 × 375 Cm "galerie Sardje"

Artist: Art Persan

Large Isfahan rug – Iran, Shah era, 1970s - Dimensions: 258 × 375 cm

A superb Isfahan rug hand-knotted in Iran during the 1970s, during the Shah’s reign—a period renowned for the exceptionally high quality of Persian workshops’ craftsmanship.

This rug is distinguished by an elegant central medallion design richly adorned with flowers, set against an ivory field enlivened by an abundance of scrolls, palmettes, and stylized flowers. The wide border, dominated by sky blue, enhances the overall design and provides a refined contrast. The color palette—comprising deep blues, madder reds, ivory, and touches of golden beige—gives this piece great luminosity and a remarkable presence.

The design exhibits perfect symmetry, a hallmark of the finest Isfahan rugs. The finesse of the knotting and the precision of the motifs attest to exceptional traditional craftsmanship. Crafted from high-quality fine wool.

With its generous dimensions (258 × 375 cm), it will naturally find its place in a reception room, a library, or a dining room, in both classic and contemporary interiors.
