Magnificent Kashmir rug, entirely hand-knotted, testifying to the traditional skills of the master weavers of northern India. Its superior-quality wool is remarkably soft and dense, giving it a silky feel and a sheen characteristic of the finest pieces from this region.

The main field, on a golden beige background, is adorned with a floral allover composition of great finesse: bouquets of roses blooming in elaborate vases, foliage scrolls and arabesques intertwine in a symmetrical ballet of striking precision. The palette, delicately shaded in salmon pink, slate blue, almond green and cream, lends the ensemble a timeless elegance.

The wide border with its brick-red background, punctuated by floral motifs and leafy twigs, frames the field with authority and balance. The well-preserved natural cotton bangs testify to the care given to the piece over time.
