Chinese Art Deco Rug Circa 1920. 350x260 Cm
China has a long and distinguished artistic tradition of carpet making, dating back to the 15th century. Originally, designs and motifs were inspired by Chinese culture : porcelain, landscapes, majestic dragons, and religious symbols.
Chinese carpet patterns are generally cut in relief, giving them their famous three-dimensional appearance.
Precisely woven using high-quality wool, the rug feels luxurious underfoot and is very soft.
Size : 350 x 260 cm
Condition : Wool shows signs of wear over time. Fringes restored on one side; the other side is very short.
Slight table leg marks are visible; the central medallion has minor soiling.
