Tabriz carpet from the beginning of the 20th century. Around 1920.
Tabriz is one of the largest cities in Iran and one of the most famous Persian carpet provinces. Tabriz rugs are often indicated with a "Raj" number. The higher this number, the finer the carpet, because it indicates the density of the knots.
Beautiful typically Persian design and beautiful natural colors including this quite rare pink which makes this rug unique.
Completely and very finely hand-knotted wool velvet on a cotton base.
Size : 180x120 cm
Condition : Wear, on the end of the carpet two visible wears, one of 23cm and the other of 17cm.
On 3 corners of the carpet, restoration of reinforcement, worn edges.
It remains a very beautiful collector's item. Very fine weave.
