Art Deco Silk Rug After Hundertwasser, 300x200 Cm
Silk rug, after *Trees as Tenants Never Sleep* (1973).
Shanghai silk rug.
This silk rug is a reproduction of an iconic work by the Austrian architect and artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928–2000), a major figure in socially engaged art and a fervent advocate for the preservation of the planet.
Created in 1973, the watercolor *Trees as Tenants Never Sleep* powerfully embodies Hundertwasser's visionary thinking, a pioneer of the environmental cause.
It illustrates the concept of "tenant trees," dear to the artist, according to which trees integrated into architecture "pay their rent" by providing essential values: oxygen, beauty, and silence, while filtering dust and contributing to climate regulation. True to his convictions, Hundertwasser had more than 60,000 trees planted worldwide, translating his artistic commitment into concrete actions.

“Only he whose thought and life are creation can survive here and in the hereafter.”
(Friedensreich Hundertwasser)
We chose this rug not only for the richness and uniqueness of its visual language, but also for the depth and relevance of the humanist and ecological message conveyed by the artist.
Size : 300 x 200 cm
Condition : Restored fringes on both sides. Minor wear and the silk's sheen is more pronounced along the green border. Slight puckering on one side, near the fringes; this will naturally diminish over time once the rug is in place. Overall, the rug is in good condition.
