Made by the Qashqai nomads in Iran and in factories in India, these rugs have a simple design with only a few decorative motifs. The name says it all. “Gabbeh” means “rare” but also “natural.”
This rug was hand-knotted in India. Indian Gabbeh rugs are made of soft sheep's wool, are comfortable underfoot, and have thermal insulation properties.
Most of their designs are simple, timeless, and modern.
They were inspired by nomadic peoples, who incorporated very simple patterns from their surroundings into the rugs. Indian Gabbeh rugs are not quite of the same quality as Persian rugs, but offer excellent value for money.
