Porcelain Tea Cup And Saucer Set #3 From The Ca Mau Shipwreck (c. 1725)
A blue-and-white porcelain tea cup and saucer set from the shipwreck off the coast of Ca Mau, Vietnam (Yongzheng period).
This shipwreck was excavated by archaeologists in 1997, who dated it to around 1725.
Part of the cargo was sold by Sotheby’s in Amsterdam in 2007.
The design on this piece depicts two figures, one of whom is stoking the fire beneath a traditional stove.
Saucer diameter: 11 cm. Total weight: 98 g.
In very good condition, with no cracks or chips.
