Second Empire Sewing And Embroidery Kit In Its Case
Charming sewing and embroidery kit. A lovely wooden box covered in leather, with a lid adorned with a painting on leather depicting two young women in an Asian setting; a faint signature in the lower right corner. The pieces are made of silver. The swan hallmark is used for silverwork from abroad whose origin is unknown. Slight wear on the case and a small chip on one of the mother-of-pearl spools. The set remains in good condition. The case measures approximately 6,69 inches x 4,33 inches. A rather unusual set, likely manufactured in Asia for a European clientele.
