Mother-of-pearl Dance Card, “souvenir”, Restoration Period Circa 1820
Dance card, notebook made up of two finely engraved mother-of-pearl plaques. In the center of the first side a bronze plaque engraved with the inscription “souvenir”. Pretty gilt bronze frame decorated on the side with its lead pencil stylus which allows the notebook to be closed. Silk interior. Note a small scratch visible on the lower part of the first side, it remains barely visible. The notebook measures 3,15 inches long and 2,44 inches wide. France, Paris, circa 1820.
