Walking Stick Made Of Whalebone, Pommel Carved With A Greyhound Head, 19th Century

A rare, fine walking stick made entirely of whalebone, worked in the style of a spruce. The pommel is carved with a greyhound's head with glass eyes. There is a repair in the middle of the stick, which has been glued back on; this is visible in the close-up photos but barely noticeable to the naked eye. The entire stick measures 34,64 inches in length. France, circa 1850.
