Bronze Plaque

Bronze plaque depicting the Rape of the Sabine Women. This scene is set in Roman antiquity, when the men of Rome’s first generation obtained wives by abducting women from other cities. The plaque features high relief and has a tin-soldered ring on the back. It is likely, as is often the case, a recast of an older work. Beautiful patina.
