A bronze reduction of the marble statue of the Roman Emperor Augustus. The marble statue was discovered in 1863 during archaeological excavations at Prima Porta. This bronze statuette, with a dark patina, is mounted on a square pedestal shaped like a terrace with molded sides. The emperor is typically depicted in armor, addressing his troops. These statuettes were brought back by tourists during the Grand Tour.
