Very Large Canvas, 17th-18th Century...allegoric Scene With Time Revealing The Truth

Large and remarkable old painting, which can be dated between the end of the 17th century and the middle of the 18th, which represents an important allegorical scene showing "time revealing the truth": this theme became very popular with collectors as soon as the painter Nicolas Poussin (1594-1665) created a painting of it for Cardinal Richelieu under the title "Time removes truth from the grasp of envy and discord" / Louvre Museum...
note: this work does not appear to be signed but its fine quality suggests the presence of an excellent artist: one would be tempted to think of a painter of the French school, influenced by the end of the Italian Baroque and the classical art of Nicolas Poussin. There is no shortage of candidates, including Noël Coypel, Sébastien Bourdon, Charles de La Fosse, or even later, in the 18th century, Jean-François de Troy or François Lemoyne... not forgetting the Italian school, due to its chiaroscuro and overall theatricality: indeed, this subject was favored by the great Italian masters such as Guercino in the 17th century, but also in the 18th century by artists like Pompeo Batoni and Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. The presence of a palm tree in the background could also point to a painter from the Roman or Venetian school of the 18th century – a tip for those interested in research.
