Relics Of Saint Clou - 19th Century
Although this is a facsimile, it is indeed a relic ofcontact, as this nail is said to have touched an authentic nail from the Cross. It wasproduced by the Monastery of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem in 1877.
This nail is made of forged metal, with a ribbon sealedwith red wax. The nail, thus adorned with this seal, comes with itsprecious certificate of origin (the seals on the seal and the certificate are identical).
This certificate states: To all and each of those whoexamine this letter, we attest and certify that this iron nail,iron, bound with a red silk ribbon and bearing our smallseal, has been brought into contact with the holy Nail preserved by us,the Cistercians, in the inner chapel of the holy relics of theof the Holy Cross in Jerusalem; which is one of those with whichOur Lord Jesus Christ was nailed to the Cross; and that this same nail iscrafted with such artistry that it appears very similar [to this one]. Given in Rome, at our monastery ofthe Holy Cross in Jerusalem, on the 3rd day of June in the year 1877.
