Irénée Rochard (1906-1984) was one of the great French animal sculptors of the XXᵉ century. A student at the Beaux-Arts, he exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he won several awards. His creations, particularly sought-after today, are distinguished by their dynamism, sense of observation and high quality of execution.
