Cut-out and openwork chrome-plated metal plaque depicting a skier, one ski in the air who seems to be losing his balance. Fixed on a Macassar ebony base. Round hollow mark on the base, probably the location of a small cylinder (missing) which received cocktail picks.
Signed on the back on one ski "Sudre", stamped on the base "AL Déposé"
Probably Raymond Sudre (1870-1962), French sculptor, painter and medal engraver.
Typically Art Deco in the stylization and use of materials circa 1930
