Inlaid Wood Bargueño On Original Base, Spain, Circa 1700
Spanish bargueño on its original base, circa 1700. The front, built according to a rigorously symmetrical composition, features geometric inlays and an elaborately-architectural central door, behind which numerous drawers and compartments unfold.
The multi-compartment interior layout, the fine inlays and the ebonized base with turned legs and wrought-iron braces are among the characteristic elements of this type of furniture. The ensemble retains its original combination of cabinet and stand.
