18th-century Meissen Porcelain Sucrier and Cover, c.1730
An 18th-century Meissen porcelain sucrier and original cover, c.1730, decorated with Deutsche Blumen and scattered flowers on a white ground, with flower finial, underglaze blue crossed swords to base.
Note: There is a small painted flower on the inside base of the bowl. This is original and most likely added to cover a firing flaw.
Measurements:
Height: 11 cm (4.3 in)
Diameter: 11.6 cm (4.6 in)
Condition: 3 small chips to rim of cover and gilding losses. 2 small chips to the rim of bowl. Loss of foliage to lid. Minor losses to ends of petals of flower finial (please see images).
