Beautiful large ormolu clock with exceptional chasing and high quality gilding.
The subject depicts Spring as a young winged ephebe holding a rose between his fingers, below which is a bas-relief of the god Mars (god of Spring) above the clouds swarming with flower petals, and to the right is a granite vase with a bouquet of roses. The dial, bearing the name Gemon in Paris, stands on a column surmounted by a winged head.
