Magnificent decorative earthenware dish depicting a male figure holding a cane in his hand. He is wearing waist-length pants and a top with a high collar, typical masculine attire of the Directoire period and the early years of the 19th century.
This very fine earthenware painting bears the signature of E. Faux in the lower right-hand corner of the decoration.
