Suite Of Four English Chairs In Solid Mahogany, Victorian Period, England, Early 19th Century
Elegant suite of four solid carved mahogany chairs, made in England in the first half of the 19th century. In fact, these saber-shaped back legs have a re-entrant movement typical of certain English models from this period. The backrests are reminiscent of the Louis Philippe style, with a central bar carved with a floral motif.
Finally, the seat of our chairs is made up of removable cushions covered with a velvet fabric in grey/black camaieu, which has recently been refurbished. The woodwork is in very good condition. Two of these chairs have small veneer grafts on the back of the seat for one and on one of the back legs for the other (see photos 9 and 10)
