A charming Art Deco-style Sarreguemines earthenware mantelpiece set, made in the mid-20th century.
Comprising a clock and two vases, this set beautifully captures the seaside atmosphere of the 1920s and 1930s.
The clock depicts a young blonde woman sitting under her parasol; it is paired with a set of vases adorned with a design of seagulls flying over wooden fences.
The set has retained all its freshness and luster; the pastel colors are superb.
Since the mechanism is rusted and no longer works, this set is sold as a decorative item only.
Very good overall condition, with some wear on the back and around the mechanism (see photo).
