J-k Huysmans - Autograph Letter Signed - Musée Du Luxembourg - Renouard - Whistler.
Autograph letter signed by Joris-Karl Huysmans (1848-1907).
Paris, December 2, 1902. Two pages, small in-16. Size: 10 x 9 cm / With magnetic exhibition frame included: 16 x 12 cm.
Charming, typical small-format letter in which Huysmans evokes in turn the Musée du Luxembourg and its director Léonce Bénédite, but also the painters Paul Renouard (1845 -1924) and James Whistler (1834-1903).
"Paris, December 2, 1902
Chère Mademoiselle,
I saw M. Bénédite yesterday. He told me again that he was delighted to have the exhibition at his home. [
It would take place in July, no doubt, between that of Renouard which he is preparing and that of Whistler which would come after.
He seems to want to take charge of everything and would like to see you.
So go and visit him at the Musée du Luxembourg where he is in the afternoon; I think that on Saturday he would probably be there around 3 or 4 o'clock.
There would be many other things to look at, but I will tell them to you in person.
Best regards, yours truly,
J.K Huysmans"
