"Aymé (marcel) - The Green Mare. La Belle Edition, Undated (circa 1950), Illustrated By Collot."
AYMÉ (Marcel) - The Green Mare. Paris, La Belle Édition, undated (circa 1950); octavo, 277 pp., bound in full brown morocco, smooth spine, gilt top edge, front cover stamped with the author's initials. Numbered copy. Illustrations by André Collot. Marcel Aymé, a writer deeply attached to Franche-Comté and its dialect, caused a stir by writing scripts for Louis Daquin, a Marxist director, and at the same time by entrusting his short stories to 'Je suis Partout' and 'la Gerbe', collaborationist newspapers. It was his support for Brasillach, Bardèche, and Céline that earned him the accusation of "collaborator," not his writings. This did not prevent him from subsequently writing 'Uranus'. Good condition.
