Woven wool on wool, in the traditional manner.
Very nice, fine and even weave. The piece is supple and light. The wool is ultra soft and silky, hand-spun.
Sublime vegetal hues... a deeply dark and intense, almost abyssal blue, on which incredible color variations unfold: orange, yellow and violet, as well as a brick hue... an emerald green, rare and sought-after by collectors, catches the eye. There is also a remarkable presence of white, which structures the whole, creating a strong contrast and highlighting each color with an almost scenic clarity.
Here, no rigidity in the geometric details: the elements are freely arranged in their place, like notes on a score, and compose their own visual harmony, outside any rules.
The piece dates from the 1900s-1920s.
